Victorian Bushfires Case Support Program
OverviewThis program aims to provide a single point of contact for local residents affected by the Victorian bushfires to link them directly with vital support, such as information and advice, mental health support and financial counselling.
Support coordinators will be a single point of contact, working with local residents to link them directly with vital support, such as information and advice, mental health support or financial counselling. They can help them with:
- Discussing the needs and the next steps they could take.
- Information and support to access services.
- Completing paperwork and accessing grants.
- Community information.
- Financial counselling and assistance with insurance.
- Advise for business owners.
- Financial support to help with immediate needs.
Support can be provided face to face, over the phone or at a location that suits the applicant.
Individuals, families and emergency service workers in East Gippsland Shire can access up to ten free and confidential counselling sessions without a GP referral.
There is no charge for the services provided by this program.
Eligible applicants include people in fire-affected areas in Gippsland and North East Victoria.
The program also includes support for people who may have been impacted by the bushfires in these areas but live in other parts of Victoria.
